UPDATE: Active Shooter at a Texas High School Dead From Self-Inflicted Injuries
UPDATE: (courtesy of our sister station KXSS): The school was evacuated at around 9:45 a.m. It does not appear that there was a second shooter. The main suspect was confirmed dead from self-inflicted gunshot wounds. One police officer has also been reported as wounded from friendly fire. No other suspects are being investigated.
ORIGINAL POST: There are numerous reports this morning of an active shooter at a high school in Southwest Texas.
The Alpine Police Department confirms that there is an active shooter at Alpine High School. All schools and administration building in Alpine are under lockdown at this hour. There is a report of at least one person dead.
The is unconfirmed reports there is additional shooters on the loose. Alpine is located about 220 miles southeast of El Paso.
