Mexican gray wolves were reintroduced into the wild in several states, including New Mexico, and, as of March, 2025, almost 300 are estimated to be roaming New Mexico and Arizona.

Now, these beautiful critters are getting a foothold and their numbers are growing. That's the good news, the bad news is that some other animals, namely cattle, are falling victim to wolf attacks. Cattle ranchers across the USA have come up with a unique way to protect their livestock.

How Are Ranchers Protecting Cattle?

The operations are quick and methodical. The drones have heat-seeking cameras that can show operators where the wolves are at night. A loudspeaker attached to the drone then plays a clip of human sound, and the wolves disperse nearly instantaneously. - yahoo

In Oregon, wolf attacks on cattle fell from a few per week to under one per month using this plan. A humane way to protect cattle and save an endangered species from going extinct, (again), that's also inexpensive.

Although it may be taking a toll on the egos of AC/DC and Scarlett.
