While Governor Abbott announced that water parks may reopen this coming weekend, Wet N' Wild will remain closed for the time being, and the opening of public pools remains in the air. So, now, El Pasoan's have to find ways to stay cool as temperatures rise. Ideally, you want to already have an in-ground pool, but that's not always possible. Which is where the above-ground pool comes into play.

Once upon a time, I had an above-ground pool. It was glorious. I would have awesome parties, I could take a dip anytime I couldn't stand the heat anymore. We moved and I ended up selling my above-ground pool for $200. RIP above-ground pool, I miss you.

Now, that I actually wanted to buy another above-ground pool, I can't find one! Above ground pools are sold out everywhere I go! Target, Walmart, Home Depot, Amazon, all pools are listed as "temporarily out of stock." Above-ground pools have become the new toilet paper. I feel like a stalker after having called all the stores on a daily basis to ask when they're going to be restocked with above ground pools. "Soon" they tell me, but not soon enough, temperatures are skyrocketing outside and I feel ill prepared for this summer season.

Above-ground pool sales are surging as more people are staying home and running out of ways to keep kids entertained. I knew I should have bought an above-ground pool earlier this year, but I figured I wouldn't need it and now I regret my decision. While I wait for anyone to restock their above-ground pools, here are five ways to keep cool if you can't find an above-ground pool either.
