"Out in the West Texas town of El Paso..." well, you know the rest.

Marty Robbins' song "El Paso" is iconic- and every El Pasoan can recognize it almost immediately. I was once in Disneyland and while in Frontierland, they played an acoustic version of it and it warmed my little El Paso heart. It's so iconic that we were all (rightfully) outraged at the fact that the Austin American Statesman didn't include "El Paso" on their list of best songs about Texas!

We all know it and we all love it, but did you know that it's actually a trilogy? Recorded at different times, Marty Robbins' "El Paso Trilogy" tells the story in three parts; starting with "El Paso", then "Feleena" which tells the story of the Mexican girl our protagonist cowboy falls in love with, then it ends with "El Paso City"- which is basically Robbins' love letter to the Sun City. Naturally, my over active imagination thought that this would actually make a great movie! So I asked out Facebook followers, if the El Paso trilogy was a movie- who would star in it?

There weren't many answers, but there were some good suggestions like Cheech Marin, Danny Trejo and that guy from the Dos X commercials; which are good suggestions, but I was hoping to have some younger actors.

Someone suggested "some girl from UTEP who does porn", which I assume they meant Mia Khalifa, who no longer does porn just FYI.

I'm more down for the Matthew McConaughey one!

Since there weren't many comments, I decided to go ahead and name who I think would be great in a movie about the El Paso Trilogy by Marty Robbins.

Jensen Ackles as our protagonist cowboy

This Texas born actor has a heart as big as Texas and has a great singing voice. He was great in "Supernatural" as Dean Winchester, and will next be seen as Soldier Boy in "The Boys"- but it would be great to see this actor don a cowboy hat and sing about his love Feleena.

Eiza Gonzalez as Feleena

Our Mexican maiden whose eyes are "blacker than night" could be portrayed by Mexican actress Eiza Gonzalez. She debuted as a telenovela actress and captured audiences in movies like "Baby Driver", "Bloodshot" and "Godzilla vs. Kong". The second part of Marty Robbins' El Paso trilogy is all about Feleena's past and how she arrived in El Paso. Gonzalez would be perfect to tell the story of how she got a one way ticket from Santa Fe to El Paso.

Ryan Guzman as the "Wild Cowboy"

Premiere Of Columbia Picture's "Equalizer 2" - Arrivals

Hailing from Abilene, Guzman would be the perfect wild cowboy who goes against our protagonist. Guzman has an El Paso connection, kind of. Guzman portrays Eddie DIaz on "9-1-1" and his character is from El Paso working for the Los Angeles Fire Department. He's also come out in the movie "The Boy Next Door" as an unhinged and obsessed with his neighbor- so he's perfect for the violent wild cowboy role.

Matthew McConaughey as the Sheriff

Of course I had to add Matthew McConaughey to this movie! Now, there is no mention of a sheriff whatsoever but, come one, there's a shootout, there has to be a sheriff in the story!

Salma Hayek as Rosa

Everything takes place at Rosa's Cantina, but who is Rosa?! Salma Hayek would be the perfect owner of this iconic bar.

I would watch this movie.
