2 El Paso Restaurants, 1 Las Cruces Make Yelp’s Top 100

3 restaurants in the El Paso area have made Yelp’s list of “Top 100 U.S. Restaurants 2022."

Ranking number 63 on the Yelp list is The Kitchen at 150 Sunset. It’s at 150 Sunset Rd on the Westside. It used to be a nursery/landscaping store. They still have the nursery.  It’s also a venue for galas, fundraisers, and receptions. I’ve been to plenty of those there but I still haven’t been to the kitchen. By the way, The Kitchen is a brunch place and it’s only open ‘til 3 pm, except Sunday when they stay open until 5 pm.  Their entry on the Yelp 100 notes their “creative omelets, pancakes surrounded by lush greenery and relaxing water features”.  As I said, it’s still ALSO a nursery and landscaping center too.

NOMI

A few spots higher at number 57 is NoMi. It’s at 6127 N. Mesa and Yelp describes it as “Texas’s tastiest Asian fusion and moody east meets west interiors.”

But the highest-ranking local restaurant is in Las Cruces. At number 47 on Yelp’s Top 100 is Lescombes Winery and Bistro.  It’s a sixth-generation winery, formerly known as St. Clare’s and it’s at 1720 Avenieda de Mesilla, just a short way up the road from historic Old Mesilla Plaza. Yelp says, in addition to its wine, Lescombes is known for its “crème Brulee" and French onion soup.

In case you’re interested, the NUMBER ONE restaurant on the Yelp 100 is a Mexican place in Phoenix called Cocina Madrigal.
