The biggest snowstorm El Paso had ever seen in history was nearly 30 years ago. On December 13-14, 1987, over 22.5 inches of snow covered the El Paso area. With so many years that has gone by, not many photos or videos of this storm have appeared online, with the exception of this one photo uploaded onto the National Weather Service's website & on El Paso Times.

But...believe it or not, that's not the only photographic evidence we have of that storm.

KVIA actually aired home video for the anniversary of the 1987 El Paso snow storm

ABC 7 KVIA actually uploaded a news report back in 2016, looking back on the anniversary of the storm. In that same report, they interview a local resident named Daniel Zubiate & he revealed that his father, David, recorded a home video of the neighborhood that was covered in snow on December 14, 1984. David's home footage showed just how much snow was blanketed on their house & the houses next to them.

After talking to another resident, they showed more home video that showed a different neighborhood in El Paso; here you can actually see just how much snow had fallen in El Paso just by looking at the cars.

Forget about trying to see in front of you, there was just NO vision while driving on the road as this next image shows.

The NWS chief meteorologist during the 1987 storm, John Fausett, talked about how frustrating it was covering the storm all those years ago. While there's not many home videos from 1987 that showed the snow storm, we can at least see these ones that KVIA shared on tv back in 2016 on YouTube.

It's very unlikely that El Paso will see a snow storm that bad again; the worst in recent memory we got was back in 2015, when 8.1 inches fell between December 26th & the 27th. Hopefully we won't see a snow storm this bad again...
