It's been 38 years since Pee-Wee Herman went searching for his bike in the basement of the Alamo in 1985's Pee-Wee's Big Adventure only to find out, there isn't one!

Many are sharing tributes to the late actor Paul Reubens, who passed away after a private six year battle with cancer. He was 70 years old. In an Instagram post, the actor wrote:

Please accept my apology for not going public with what I’ve been facing the last six years. I have always felt a huge amount of love and respect from my friends, fans and supporters. I have loved you all so much and enjoyed making art for you.

One of those paying tribute is indeed, The Alamo! We all remember the Alamo, right? Of course, how can us Texans forget? Especially when in 1985 we all followed as Pee-Wee Herman traveled to Texas in search of his missing bike, after a fake psychic told him that his bike was in the basement of the Alamo.

In a post, the Alamo shared a lovely message on the passing of Reubens and how Pee-Wee's Big Adventure helped everyone remember the Alamo!

How sweet! Fortunately, for Pee-Wee, years later he did get to find the basement in the Alamo! We all knew that tour guide was a liar!

Pee-Wee's Big Adventure was one of those movies that was always on in my house, probably because all of us could enjoy it. We remember the Alamo, we remember Pee-Wee and how he finally got his bike back, and for me, I most importantly remember the dance moves to "Tequila".

Rest in Peace, Pee-Wee.
