Mark Tremonti

Tremonti may have started out as a solo project for Mark Tremonti with the goal of collecting his musical ideas outside of Alter Bridge and Creed, but now Tremonti is a full-fledged band with Eric Friedman on rhythm guitar, Garrett Whitlock on drums and Wolfgang Van Halen on bass.

As if Five Finger Death Punch, Papa Roach, Three Days Grace and several other top rock and metal acts weren’t enough, Tremonti and Black Stone Cherry have been added to the bill of this year’s ShipRocked cruise.

The new Alter Bridge album is coming, not too far away, and the band has started to release some studio footage from the recording of the new album!  Check out some guitars and vocals tracking for "Fortress", which is due out October 8th. A few months back, we learned that Alter Bridge had begun working on their fourth album.  Now, guitarist Mark Tremonti is spilling some details about the record.

I've been looking forward to Balloonfest Saturday ever since I found out about Tremonti being signed to play. I think he's an underrated guitar player, and a fantastic songwriter. Mark and his band didn't disappoint, either! They hit the stage with some serious chops, and ferocity that I love to see a heavy band have. They really enjoy playing these song, have a lot of skill on their instruments,

This week's shredder is Mark Tremonti. He's a great player, and a fantastic songwriter. He's written huge songs for Creed, Alter Bridge and now his solo band, Tremonti. He's got a great sense of melody and song structure, and on top of that, he's a good singer and an amazing guitarist!

This week, I want to feature the guitar skills of Mark Tremonti. He's kind of an underrated guitar player, since he tends to play more for the song instead of the shred, but when he cuts loose, he can really cut loose! I found these videos a while back, with guitar shred king Rusty Cooley and Mark trading off licks.

Okay, that sounded a little weird. Not actually a part of HIM has arrived, but his gear has arrived. For the first time I can remember in Balloonfest history, one of the bands has shipped their gear to us! Usually we just find scraggly-looking musicians, struggling with gear coming off the baggage carousel at the airport, hoping for either a vegan meal or Whataburger.

You'd think being part of a world famous rock band would be enough for most guys right?
