Animal Planet's "River Monsters" is a show that documents their crew searching the world for deadly creatures. This time, they were able to save a person from death.

Jeremy Wade and the British documentary crew for the show "River Monsters" were searching a remote Australian island when they chanced upon a man in dire need of help. A castaway fisherman was stranded by some rocks in the waters of Barranyi North Island. These uninhabited islands are located 750 kilometers southeast of Darwin. The television crew were searching for a giant grouper fish, which is rumored to be in that area.

As the crew was driving their boat through the area, a member saw a cooler floating in the water. Upon closer examination, the crew member saw a man run out of a cave on the small island, yelling and waving for help.

The man said his name was Tremine, and he was digging for oysters a few days before. While searching the temperature rose to 109 degrees, and he lost track of where his boat was located. The man became disoriented, dehydrated and too weak to find food or water.

In the video, Jeremy Wade spoke on the condition they found the man in,

"With every hour that passed his chances of survival diminished. One more day on the beach and he would have died."

According to the crew members, Tremine was only hours from death when they found him. He was given water, food and sent for immediate medical attention.
