Police Seek Suspect In Motorcycle Theft

Police in Las Cruces are searching for a suspect accused of stealing a motorcycle from a dealership. Police say the suspect broke into The Power Center at 2000 North Telshor Boulevard on July 4th and stole a 2008 Kawasaki KLX450. Anyone with information is urged to contact police.

Obama Commutes Sentences Of 46 Prisoners

A Las Cruces man is among nearly four-dozen federal prisoners whose sentences are being commuted by President Obama. John M. Wyatt was serving 262 months for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute but will now be set free in November. All 46 prisoners have been serving long sentences for nonviolent drug offenses. The President will talk about reforming the criminal justice system in two speeches this week. Obama believes federal prisons are overpopulated with nonviolent drug offenders who are serving lengthy sentences.

TX Governor "Very Frustrated" Over Mexican Drug Lord's Prison Escape

Border Patrol agents are on high alert after a drug kingpin escaped from a maximum security prison in Mexico. Joaquin Guzman is known as "El Chapo" and officials say he's responsible for smuggling more cocaine, meth and pot into the U.S. than anyone else. Texas Governor Greg Abbott tells Fox News' "Fox and Friends" there's no reason Guzman shouldn't be in prison for the rest of his life. Officials say Guzman escaped Saturday through an elaborate mile-long tunnel that had been dug under his shower cell and was equipped with air vents and a motorized cart to take him to a small farm house. Dozens of prison employees are being investigated in connection with the break out.

Search Continues For Former Texans Wide Receiver

The search goes on for former Houston Texans wide receiver JaJuan Dawson. The 37 year old went missing Sunday evening after falling into Lavon Lake while boating with several others in Collin County. Authorities say Dawson was not wearing a life jacket at the time. The Houston native played for the Texans in 2002 and with the Cleveland Browns prior to that.

Slight Dip In Texas Gas Prices

Don't look to save much more than you already are at the state's gas pumps. Triple-A says the statewide average price of regular is still $2.56 a gallon despite a fraction of a cent drop compared to Sunday. Drivers are shelling out about 4 cents less for the fuel than a month ago and 91 cents less than on this same day last year.
