A drone crashed on the white house lawn recently, which I'm sure made the secret service feel even better about the stellar job they've been doing lately, while being piloted by an allegedly drunk civilian.

One of the things this guy is in trouble for now is flying his drone in restricted air space which, duh, the White House happens to be within.  In fact, all of Washington D.C. is a "no fly" zone and it's not the only place where you have to keep your drone to yourself.  Here are some others:

  •  First, stay away from airports and military bases. Those are BIG no-nos.
  • Avoid stadiums.  If it holds 30,000 people or more, you can't fly your drone within 1 mile of it.
  • Alaska, Montana, and Colorado have outlawed them completely IF you’re using them for hunting. Apparently, that's cheating.
  • If you're a cop, don't fly your drone anywhere in Florida.  Sorry, you guys will have to keep hiding behind billboards and trees and stuff.
  • Also, keep 'em out of all the national parks. No aerial grand canyon photos for you!
  •  A bill is pending that could make NYC drone free.
  • 9 states have laws in place regarding these things.

Now you know!
