If you find calling El Paso Water annoying, you're not alone.

To get right to the point, El Paso Water is understaffed when it comes to the customer support department so the wait time to speak to someone is crazy ... up to 30 minutes.

KFOX reports that wait times are so bad that almost half the customers who call the utility hang up before speaking with anyone. There doesn't seem to be any chance this situation will change anytime soon but, rest assured, El Paso Water is on it.

They are trying super hard to hire more customer support peeps and recently raised the hourly wage from $11 to $17.

If you have questions, you may be able to get an immediate answer via their online portal at epwater.org.

The KFOX article also suggests calling when the operators aren't as busy. Typically, between 7am - 8am and 5pm - 6pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

They also have a "callback feature". Simply leave your name and number and they'll call you. It may still be awhile before your question is answered but at least you can get on with your life in the meantime.

Finally, you can email customer.service@epwater.org.

Hopefully, this helps you solve your problem without wasting a lot of time and/or gets you a new gig. It's summer in El Paso so, if you're looking for work, you know that a nice, air-conditioned work environment like this one is a must.
