Joe Dirt was a 2001 comedy that didn't get great reviews, but became a cult classic that is still shown on television today. The movie did pretty good at the box office, considering the movie only cost $17.7 million to make and it grossed about $30.9 million. Now a decade later, they have decided to make a sequel, but don't expect to see it in movie theaters. "Joe Dirt 2" will be released on the website Crackle sometime in 2015. The new sequel will bring back the writer from the original movie, Fred Wolf, formerly of Saturday Night Live.

The decision to release the movie on the Crackle website may sound odd, but it actually seems to be the new trend for movies and comedians. Chelsea Handler will be bringing her popular talk show to Netflix, and Adam Sandler will be releasing four new movies straight to Netflix. Happy Madison productions will also be producing the new Joe Dirt 2.
