Cocaine Found At Dollar Store – Police Use Facebook To Track Down Owner

Are cops this bad at catching criminals?  Or, are criminals so stupid that things like this actually work?

The Crewe Va. police department, comprised of 6 .. count 'em, 6 ... officers, posted the following message on the department's facebook page:

“If you mistakenly dropped your cocaine today and were at the Super Dollar, please contact us," the department wrote. "We would like to talk with you further about your property.”

The post, which you can see here, got tons of likes, comments and even a question as to whether the coke would be returned to whoever claimed it.  To that, the department replied:

"NO!" "We will not give you back your illegal narcotics. The narcotics are weighed, photographed and placed into a evidence locker to be destroyed upon the approval of the courts. We distribute lots of things, such as lollipops to our favorite kids, and tickets to lead footed friends, but we do not re-distribute your drugs. We hope this clarifies our post a bit more."
