The largest spring-fed pool in the world has reopened. Who says Texas can't get things done quickly?

As long as it isn't road construction, Texas moves pretty quick on construction projects. I posted about a month ago that funding had been arranged to repair the pool at Balmorhea State Park and ... believe it or not ... it's already been repaired and reopened!

The park initially closed last summer due to concrete erosion. Thanks to donations from Apache Corporation and Texans across the state, enough money was raised to fix it.  The Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation raised over $1 million dollars which was matched by the Apache Corporation. Apache pledged an additional $1 million to create an endowment for future upkeep of the park along with state maintenance funds.
