1. The first cereal that offered kids a prize was Kellogg's Corn Flakes in 1909. People who bought two boxes could send away for a book called "The Funny Jungleland Moving Pictures Book".

Ironically, the pages of the book tasted much better than the Corn Flakes did back in those days.

2. In the original "He-Man" cartoons in the early '80s, he couldn't use his sword as a weapon because of broadcast standards rules, and the only enemies he was allowed to destroy were robots.

I remember this. The 80's were a weird time for cartoons because adults had somehow gotten it into their heads that if a kid saw a coyote fall off a cliff it would turn them into psychopathic killers. It resulted in some very truncated and unsatisfying cartoons for a few years until the lapse of sanity passed.

3. In the Canadian Football League's championship game, they give out an MVP award, and a SECOND award called the Most Valuable Canadian . . . for the best player in the game who's actually from Canada.
