What is Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR)?

Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR) is a euphoric experience triggered by acoustic and visual stimuli. If you don't experience ASMR it's kind of hard to get why these videos get hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube.

These popular videos usually feature an attractive, but not sexualized, young lady speaking in a whispering voice and doing something...again, NOT SEXUAL...to produce sound.

What is this? I can't be clear enough that there's nothing sexual going on here. But that's because I don't experience ASMR. People who do report tingling sensations, goose bumps and, yes, sexual stirrings.
