31 Days of Horror Films for Halloween Day 26 – [REC] and Quarantine

Another great American film that is a remake of a foreign film makes the list for October 26. This time it's not from an Asian film, but from Spain.

[REC] (2007) / Quarantine (2008)

Another hand-held camera movie, this one actually doesn't go for the really crappy wobbly shot style, but uses the reporter and cameraman set up so we can see what's actually going on for most of the movie. My favorite scene is a fantastic jump scare when they are in the lobby as things are starting to heat up. (You can see it at about 44 seconds into the trailer for Quarantine.) The US version also stars Jennifer Carpenter, from Dexter.

Watch both the Spanish version and the US version. Both are great.
