Why El Pasoans Need to Follow Paydirt Pete’s TikTok Account
As someone who helps promote social media accounts, it is really not as easy as you think.
Everyone is trying to get everyone's attention and gain followers. There are different tactics to help build an audience but sometimes, you need to join forces with other social media users to gain an audience.
This is my goal for Paydirt Pete's TikTok account. For those who do not know who Paydirt Pete is, he is The Univesity of Texas at El Paso's (UTEP) mascot.
As UTEP Miners, it is only appropriate to have a coal miner be the mascot. His look has changed drastically over the years, but his current design is beloved by many El Pasoans.

He is a perfect amount of cool without being creepy. Kids aren't afraid of him, so he also has that going for him.

Armed with his pickaxe, Paydirt Pete is on TikTok ready to wow the world and promote the awesomeness of UTEP.

The El Paso community just needs to help push his existence on social media. He not only has a TikTok, he does have an Instagram that could also use some help with followers.
Our sister station 600 ESPN El Paso does have a beautiful relationship with UTEP and we hope other El Pasoans will jump on the Paydirt Pete bandwagon.
Plus, he could use some help to have students or fans teach him some new TikTok moves. He has the skills to cheer on a team, but those moves could use some work.
