2020 was an interesting season for the Cowboys and the NFL for a lot of different reasons. For the Cowboys, they came into the year with high hopes, while they still hadn't locked Dak Prescott into a contract extension. Somehow this team faltered massively early on with one of the worst defenses the Cowboys have seen in a long, long time, if not ever. Dak Prescott was proving he deserved whatever contract he wanted until a nasty ankle injury prematurely ended his season.

After losing to the Giants, the Cowboys dreams of any kind of postseason came to an end. Now it's time to start looking at the 2021 off season. The draft is still a few months away, set to take place April 29th through May 1st. You can find all kinds of mock drafts already online. Here are some of the names that are being floated out there as potential picks for the Cowboys here in 2021.

  • Jaycee Horn, CB, South Carolina
  • Azeez Ojulari, EDGE, Georgia
  • Trevon Moehrig, S, TCU
  • Teven Jenkins, OT, Oklahoma State
  • Caleb Farley, CB, Virginia Tech
  • Christian Barmore, IDL, Alabama
  • Andre Cisco, S, Syracuse
  • Gregory Rousseau, EDGE, Miami
  • Tyson Campbell, C, Georgia
  • Jevon Holland, S, Oregon
  • Jack Sanborn, LB Wisconsin

Those are in no particular order, just a list of the names that keep popping up in mock drafts. But are you noticing a theme? Defense, defense, defense. That was clearly the weakness of the Cowboys this past offseason. That and Ezekiel Elliott not being able to hold on to the ball.
