Walmart employees all over the country just got some bad news and others are getting a little anxious as the chain just announced more closures. Will there be any in Texas?
Walmart is shutting down 11 more stores across the country. Surprisingly, as these store are closing, Walmart is also opening a bunch of new ones and remodeling a lot more.
The stores are closing all over the United States of America and it seems that California is taking the biggest hit. Texas is not on the new list.
Of the 11 stores being closed, almost half, (5), are in California - San Diego, El Cajon, West Covina, Granite Bay and Fremont are all losing stores. The others are in Columbus Ohio, Aurora Colorado, Milwaukee Wisconsin, Marietta Georgia and Towson, Maryland.
While Walmart is closing some locations, it is simultaneously expanding in other areas. The company plans to open 12 new stores by the end of 2024, with a focus on Neighborhood Markets—smaller-format stores that prioritize groceries and pharmacy services. These new stores are part of Walmart’s larger strategy to adapt to changing shopping habits while still serving local communities. - eladelantado.com
Walmart is not only opening new stores, they are also remodeling or converting a ton of their stores ... 800 in all ... around the United States of America and Puerto Rico. Some of the renovations being made include wider aisles, new pickup and delivery spaces and a lot of technological modifications that Walmart says will improve service and their customers overall shopping experience in stores and online.
