‘Viva El Paso’ Returns to the Canyon in July – What to Know About 2022 Season
Viva! El Paso, one of our most enduring summer traditions, returns for a 12-show, 6-weekend run this July and August.
The 44th season of the outdoor extravaganza, which chronicles the 400-year history and cultural evolution of El Paso and the border region, will get underway July 1 and run every Friday and Saturday night through August 6.
What to Know about the 2022 Season
El Paso's rich history and cultural heritage are brought to life through song and dance by local performers, and with the Franklin Mountains providing a naturally beautiful backdrop, the summer production is definitely a Bucket List event for every El Pasoan.
It has undergone a few tweaks over the years including a refreshed script, so if you haven't seen it in a few years it's worth revisiting.
This year’s production will again feature Tony-Award-winning playwright Marty Martin's refreshed script and musical contributions from composer/songwriters Jim Ward and Cody Ritchey.
But while some changes have been made in the last few years, the show's popular songs and elements from its decades-long past remain in place.
