Uber & Lyft Offering Free Rides To Vaccination Sites Thru July 4
The White House is teaming up with ride-sharing apps Uber and Lyft to help get Americans to vaccination sites.
The vaccination effort continues in the Borderland and everyone is working together to get as many people as possible vaccinated. While the City of El Paso now has several vaccination sites where people can go and get poked, sometimes the biggest issue isn't getting the appointment, it's finding a ride there.
Thankfully, various groups are working together to try and find people rides so they can make it to their vaccination appointment. The White House is teaming up with ride-sharing apps Lyft and Uber to make rides to and from US vaccination sites free through July 4th.
The number of Americans getting vaccinated has gone down significantly over the past few weeks across the country, the White House is looking for new ways to help make it easier for people to go to vaccination sites and get their COVID-19 vaccine.
The White House has reportedly shared 80,000 vaccination sites with both companies and the companies are promoting the free rides on their apps. According to Daily Mail, users can find a vaccination site near them through the apps and then hit an option to redeem a free ride.
Uber and Lyft were already offering discounted rides and in some areas free rides. Now that the companies have teamed up with the White House they can offer free rides nationwide.
