Time For The 2011 El Paso Motorcycle Coalition Toy Run!
Roaring into Cohen Stadium Sunday!
This year, it's a little different! Led by El Paso Mayor John Cook; We start at International Truck Driving School near Sunland Park Racetrack And Casino as usual. (Registration begins at 9am) Then we head north, away from the race track, go over Trans Mountain and end up at Cohen Stadium in the northeast! (All the bikes should be in by 12:30 or so)
Last year approximately 2200 motorcycles rode in the parade, this year we hope for more! Come out and BRING YOUR FRIENDS!! The event is to raise money and toys to help provide a Merry Christmas for needy children in the El Paso area. These aren't distributed throughout the country as some agencys do, everything raised here, STAYS here! Helping OUR kids to have a brighter Christmas!
A quick note, the toys typically lean toward younger kids and infants but there are many children we'd like to give stuff to who are a bit older. Tweens and teens so, keep that in mind when selecting your donation please!!
Coalition members!! Buy the toy you plan to donate at any area Walgreens this weekend! Show them your patch and you'll get 15% off the price of the toy!
If you can't .. or don't .. ride; you can still help by catching the party at Cohen Stadium!! A toy and a couple of bucks gets you in! (Riders; your plates are provided as part of your entry fee!!)
Door prizes, live music from The Bird Dogs and The Border City Band plus; plenty of food, beer, soft drinks and fun! A fashion show presented by Barnett Harley - Davidson and bikes. LOTS of bikes! Come out to make a child smile ... and make yourself smile while you're at it!!
