It's been quite awhile since I've updated my resume that I can't even tell you what I put on there. I'm sure somewhere on there I may have told a little fib. I know that I'm not the only one who fibs on a resume, especially when it's a job you really want. I don't know what lie I put on my resume that landed me a job here but it worked and now they're stuck with me here.

I know it can be difficult to make a resume that will make you stand out from the crowd; you want it to catch the hiring managers attention, but sometimes what some people put on their resume isn't always a good attention catcher. According to Zippia, they analyzed 3,543,017 resumes to find what, if any, words stood out. Boy did they find some weird stuff.

Zippia compiled a list and separated all the weird and unexpected words they found by state. Words like "Kardashian's", "UFOs", "Witchcraft", "Wookie" and "Rapping" showed up on different resumes. In Texas, the most unexpected word they found pop up on resumes was "Bigfoot". Zippia doesn't go into detail of why exactly "bigfoot" was a word that popped up on Texas resumes or what was said in the resumes, but I'm sure it definitely caught the attention of the hiring manager. Check out the map below to see what other unexpected words were found in states.

I don't find it surprising that New Mexico's word was "alien", but bigfoot in Texas is strange to me. I'm no squatcher, but I'm pretty sure that Texas is that last place bigfoot would be at.
