The Rules to Abide By On Halloween
Just as there are certain rules that one must abide by in order to successfully survive a horror movie there are also certain rules one must abide by on Halloween. I know it seems a bit weird to think that there are "rules" to follow on Halloween but trust me, there are. If you're not familiar with any of these rules let me enlighten you.
First off, now is a good time to revisit the rules that one must abide by in order to successfully survive a horror movie. If you're not familiar, the rules come from Randy, the character played by Jamie Kennedy in the 1996 slasher Scream. There are lots of others who will say there are different rules, but if you're a true horror fan like Randy was, and how I am, then these are the ones you want to follow.
Now that we're caught up on how to survive a horror movie, let's move on to the rules to abide by on Halloween. If you're familiar with the horror anthology film Trick 'r Treat then you know that if you don't want a visit from Sam, then you must follow them. There's only four simple rules and Sam will (literally) kill to uphold them.
- Rule #1: Always wear a costume.
It's just not Halloween without a costume, just ask Danielle, who reluctantly wears a costume, but at the end, Sam gives her to "OK"
- Rule #2: Always pass out treats.
You know who doesn't pass out treats on Halloween? Mr. Kreeg. Sam shows him a lesson and at the end, while injured, Mr. Kreeg hands out treats to trick or treaters.
- Rule #3: Never blow out a jack-o-lantern before midnight.
Halloween isn't over until the clock strikes midnight, don't blow out the candles in the jack-o-lantern until then, unless you want to end up like Emma.
- Rule #4: Always check your candy.
The last rule, and probably the most important one, always check your candy. Unless you want to end up like Charlie.
Happy Halloween!
