One of Hard Rock and Heavy Metal's most prolific artists is finally going to have his story told.

Ronnie James Dio was one of rocks' most powerful singers. He wasn't a big guy but, he had the voice of a lion and an absolute heart of gold. I worked a couple of shows with him and he was always incredibly kind and welcoming to everyone around him. Fans, crew, "the radio guy" ... everyone was treated like a king. Sadly, we lost him in 2010 to stomach cancer.

A "hologram tour" featuring Dio has toured before, (see video above), and is set to do so again this year. If you never got to see him live, catch the hologram tour if you can. It's your only hope of catching him live in a true, live concert setting and, trust me, he was GREAT live.

Now, thanks to a TON of recently found footage and archived material, his story is finally going to be told. Footage going back as far as his days with Elf will be included in the upcoming documentary. Along, of course, with stuff from his time with Rainbow, Black Sabbath and his own band, known simply as, Dio.

No release date has been announced yet.
