In the 57 year history of the Super Bowl, the Grand Canyon state has seen a total of 4 Super Bowl games. Arizona has seen some truly incredible upsets & shocking outcomes. Let's look back at the amazing games held in Arizona's history:

Super Bowl XXX (1996):

This is one where Cowboys fans love to remember; the 1996 Super Bowl XXX matchup of the 12-4 Dallas Cowboys vs the 11-5 Pittsburgh Steelers held at the Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe. Both teams would each have their 5th Super Bowl appearances in franchise history; the 3rd meeting between each other. The Steelers won the last two times in Super Bowls X & XIII but it would be the Dallas Cowboys getting the victory, 27-17.

This would be the 5th time the Cowboys win a Super Bowl, & currently, it was their last win & appearance for Dallas.

Super Bowl XLII (2008):

The 2nd time Arizona would host a Super Bowl would be 12 years later; the 2008 matchup involving the 16-0 New England Patriots & the 10-6 New York Giants inside the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale.

This was shaping up the be, potentially, a perfect season for the Patriots but that wasn't meant to be, as the Giants would beat the Pats 17-14. It would become one of the greatest upsets in NFL history.

Super Bowl XLIX (2015):

The University of Phoenix would host the next Super Bowl, Super Bowl XLIX; The Seattle Seahawks vs the New England Patriots. Both teams were 12-4; the Seahawks were dominant with their Legion of Boom defense & the Patriots? Well... they were the Patriots led by Bill Belichick and Tom Brady.

The Seahawks were hoping to win their 2nd straight Super Bowl & the Patriots were hoping to win their 4th overall Super Bowl. The game is mostly known for the very last play at the 1 yard line, thanks to a player named Malcolm Butler, sealing the victory for the Pats.

Super Bowl LVII (2023):

Of course the most recent Super Bowl took place at the State Park Stadium in Glendale this year in 2023: The 16-3 Kansas City Chiefs vs the 16-3 Philadelphia Eagles. This game was a good matchup of offenses; with both teams scoring back & forth. It was a very even match up.

But in the end, The Kansas City Chiefs would win, 38-35 scoring their 3rd Super Bowl victory; the 2nd with Patrick Mahomes as their QB.
