We know now that the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl has NOT been canceled and WILL happen as usual on Friday, December 31st! Central Michigan is now the opponent for Washington State.

While everyone is happy that there will still be a Sun Bowl game, unfortunately something that's not so "greeeat" is one event that everyone loves will not go on as usual. The Sun Bowl Fan Fiesta has been canceled.

The Fan Fiesta was scheduled for December 30th at the El Paso Convention Center from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. No official reason was given for the cancellation but El Paso Live did notify fans through their social media outlets.

The Fan Fiesta is a free full day event that includes bands, dance groups, mariachi players, magicians and much more. It's an event that is beloved, and a tradition to many. This year, fans will have to find a different way to celebrate.

Luckily, the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl game will still go on, and fans can enjoy tailgating and watching the game as usual- and if you're not a Washington State or Central Michigan fan and wish to get a refund for your tickets, you can find out how by clicking here. If you do keep your tickets, be sure to put the coupon the back to good use and get yourself some freebies!

I think it's safe to say that this Sun Bowl game has been anything but ordinary- but it is the first one back from a pandemic, so I'm sure there are some kinks to work out.

UTEP Football Could Not Keep Up with UTSA at Sun Bowl

The nationally ranked UTSA Roadrunners started fast and never allowed UTEP to get close. The Miners lost the game at the Sun Bowl 44-23 to drop their second straight contest and fall to 6-3 on the season.
