This Texas Flight Took a Terrifying Turn After Being Struck by Gunfire
Most people don't have to worry about anything while flying in the Texas skies. Usually the flights are safe & mundane. But that was not the case earlier this year at a Texas airport; a plane was hit SHOT while attempting to depart.
A Southwest Airlines fight was hit by gunfire at the Dallas Love Field.
This sounds like something that could've come straight out of an action movie but it wasn't. It was real life & it must've been scary for the passengers on Southwest Airlines Flight 2494.
While attempting to fly to Indianapolis, a bullet struck the right side of the Boeing 737, just under the flight deck, near the cockpit. Everyone was able to leave the plane safely & there were no injuries reported.
There's even audio from the ATC (Air Traffic Control) & the cockpit OF the Southwest Airlines flight so you can hear the whole situation develop as it did in real time.
Everything started off like a routine flight but as soon as the ground units started talking, you can hear where they reported where the shots may have come from.
It's a miracle that no one other planes (or people in general) were struck by a stray bullet.
This wasn't the only time that a flight was shot at in 2024; a Spirit Airlines flight in Florida heading to Haiti was fired upon landing. The flight had to be diverted to the Dominican Republic; no one was killed but one flight attendant suffered minor injuries.
Hopefully nothing like this will happen again in the future; Texas has already seen its share of aircraft disasters so we don't need to see another one...
