One Connecticut lawmaker is looking to get those little bottles of liquor banned, could Texas follow suit?

I know I'm not the only one when I say, those little bottles of liquor are very convenient! Whether you call them shooters, nips or singles, they definitely come in handy when you're looking to have just a little drink.

Now, Connecticut Rep. Jaime Foster is behind a proposed piece of legislation that would ban those nips statewide. Her reasoning? The nips play a major role in impaired driving.

While there is no conclusive study to directly correlate the shooters and the drunk driving issue, Foster points out that there is at least some observable evidence that drivers might be drinking these shooters behind the wheel. She noted:

What we see in patterns of littering with nips suggests that there is in-car use.

Okay, that's not a complete lie; I'm sure we've all seen those empty nips in parking lots, or even on the side of the road!

While there is some pushback on the proposal, and other Reps say that a blanket ban won't be approved, it does make one wonder if an idea like this could bleed onto other states like Texas?

Texas liquor laws are already a bit complex- imagine banning the sale of these shooters in the Lone Star state? Liquor stores are already closed on Sundays and major holidays. Some counties only permit beer and wine or restrict alcohol sales to restaurants- while Texas may seem like a freedom loving state, they sure do love to restrict our access to liquor!

While we may not see a ban on shooters anytime soon, it certainly has started a conversation.
