An incident that left two men with gun shot wounds was originally blamed on illegal immigrants. Well, two of the people making those claims have now been indicted by a grand jury.

The occurrence happened back on January 6th in Presidio, TX. Police were called to a ranch near Candeleria. The call was about a shooting, which left Walker Daugherty and Edwin Roberts with gunshot wounds. The original story the police were told was that the hunting group was attacked by people who had just illegally crossed the nearby border, and that they had tried to steal an RV that the hunters were using.

Well, turns out that story was complete BS. And because it was complete BS, Daugherty and fellow hunter Michael Bryant have been charged with using deadly conduct by discharging firearms in the direction of others.

Back when the story first hit, it gained traction on social media because of a Facebook post by Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller. Miller used the story as a reason why we need the wall built because it's needed to halt...

"violent criminals and members of drug cartels coming in."

About 30 law enforcement officers searched the area around the ranch where the hunters were staying and found no evidence of people approaching the camp or cross-border violence.
