You're bound to see some weird things in Texas; from ghosts to strange flying objects, it's going to happen. Some people have even reported to see weird lights hanging in night sky in Texas. But not just in a single place; there's been a couple of cities & towns known to have weird lights that people sometimes call "ghost lights".

Southeast Texas has one of the most famous ghost lights in the state

Also called "The Big Thicket Light", the Saratoga Lights have been reported to have been seen at night along Bragg Road in Harden County. The road was originally a line on the Santa Fe railroad in the early 1900s; now it's Farm Road 1293

For years people have said the lights are the spirit of a man who died in a train crash while others say it's the spirit of a victim of the Kaiser Burnout. Regardless on what the source is for the light, the road itself is quite unnerving to drive on...

There's a legend surrounding lights around Esperanza Creek

Not much is known about this story but according to folklore, there have been sightings of a Will O-the Wisp located around Esperanza Creek in Hudspeth County.

A man named "Mr. Morris" lived in the area for around 50 years and claimed to have spotted a light the size of a car's headlight and chased after it on horseback. The story claims that he DID find it but when the townsfolk asked him about it, he never gave an answer.

To this day, it remains a mystery...

The most famous "ghost lights" are located in West Texas

If you've travel to the town of Marfa, then you've most definitely have heard of the Marfa Lights. They are a cluster of glowing orbs that can be spotted in the desert. No one knows what exactly these are or what causes them. They've become a HUGE part of Marfa's culture, the town holds a festival in honor of the Marfa lights every year.

These strange lights aren't the only things that have been seen in the Texas skies; many UFOs have been seen too. You can read about the most famous UFO sightings here.
