The Texas Department of Public Safety really gave Texans a laugh (or maybe a heart attack) after their Amber Alert spoof on Friday. According to the alert, Chucky- or he could also be known as Charles Lee Ray- abducted his son- Glen Ray- and was last seen in Henderson, TX.

The Texas Department of Public Safety tell TMZ that this was actually just the result of a test gone wrong, saying: "This alert is a result of a test malfunction. We apologize for the confusion this may have caused and are diligently working to ensure this does not happen again."

One of my favorite parts about this under "additional information" when it says he was wearing his denim overalls with a multi- colored striped long sleeved shirt; the uniform of a "Good Guy". Also, why, under Chucky's race does it say "Other: Doll" but under Glen's it does say "white"?

Despite it being hilarious- I'm sure some who aren't familiar with the horror franchise were a bit shocked to see a murderous doll on the lam. I know for sure that if I saw Regan from "The Exorcist" on an Amber Alert I'd totally freak out. Which makes me think; what other horror child abductees could come from this test?

Carol Ann and the Poltergeist?
Rosemary's Baby and those creepy neighbors?
Damien and the Devil?
The Grady Twins and their father?

All kidding aside, Amber Alerts are important and the Texas DPS did apologize for the inconvenience- but it was certainly a great way to get everyone's attention!
