These Are The Biggest Statues You Can Find in Texas
It was earlier in 2024 that Texas unveiled a new statue whose height rivals most of the oldest statues in the United States. If you travel to the Sri Ashtalakshmi Temple in Sugar Land, Texas, (near Houston) you'll find an enormous bronze statue in honor of the Hindu God, Hanuman.
The biggest statue in Texas is called the "Statue of Union"
This giant 90 foot statue has only been up since August 18, 2024, but already it has become known as one of the biggest statues in the United States. The Statue of Union statue was named after Hanuman reunited the Hindu deity Sri Rama & the goddess Maa Sita and is a symbol of selflessness, devotion, and unity.
Compared to the Statue of Liberty, which stands at 151 ft. tall, and the Pegasus & Dragon statue in Florida, Sugar Land's Statue of Union statue ranks as the 3rd tallest in the country.
If you want a better appreciation on just how big the Statue of Union is, you can see this drone footage of the statue up close.
It certainly is a marvel of engineering & Sugar Land has ANOTHER one of the biggest statues in the state; the The Sugar Land Quan Âm statue located at the Vietnam Buddist Center stands at 72 feet tall & is currently the 8th tallest statue in the United States. Fun fact...this is just down the road of the Statue of Union.
While both the Sugar Land Quan Âm & Statue of Union are the 2 biggest in Texas, they are not the ONLY giant statues you can find throughout the state. You can find what the other biggest statues in Texas are down below.
