I understand that emojis can be difficult to see sometimes, but some people really need to understand what the Texas flag is and what the Chile flag is. We would see this frequently back when we had a live stream with a chat. People would say good morning to west Texas and then post the Chilean flag emoji. Here are the two different flags.

The two flags are obviously very similar, but come on. Let's end the confusion now.

Of course, this also reminds me of people freaking out over the Norwegian flag because they thought it looked like the Confederate flag. Let's take a look at those flags.

Similar? Yes. But similar enough to get bent out of shape over it? No.

Back in July of 2020, some people in St. John's, MI saw a Norwegian flag and confused it for a Confederate flag. This apparently spun them into a blizzard and the complained that the business that was hanging the flag was promoting racism. Well, they weren't It was a Norwegian flag that was hung to pay homage to one of the owner's grandfathers, who was born in Norway. The owners of The Nordic Pineapple ended up taking the flag down, posting on their social media:

We love being members of the St Johns community and are heartbroken to have had to make this decision. Given the current cultural climate and the idea that people are judging us based on the misconception of the national Norwegian flag vs. the Confederate flag, this is what is best for our family and our Inn.
