As the second round of stimulus checks slowly begin to come in, some El Pasoans may also be eligible for 6 months of help with paying their rent.  The El Paso Apartment Association, a local non-profit organization, are hoping to provide this much needed assistance via the Texas Home Program and Under One Roof.

There is an application process required that can be accessed at epaa.org/rental-assistance.

Those interested in applying should be prepared to provide detailed information and possibly supporting documents such as a copy of their lease.

In order to be eligible, a family must reside on property in which rent is being paid (not a mortgage payment) and have lost income due to the coronavirus pandemic.  That income must be at or less than 80 percent of the Adjusted Median Family Income.  More information on those figures can be found by clicking here.

Those families that are confirmed to have qualified for this particular assistance will then have rent paid directly to their landlords by the program.  Those interested may also call the El Paso Apartment Association at 915-598-0800.
