Of course, El Paso is lucky to have one of the finest comedy clubs in the country.

The El Paso Comic Strip has national touring comics every single week and you can keep up to date with who’s coming to the Comic Strip here.

El Paso faves like Pablo Francisco and Willie Barcena are just two of the great comics coming to the club in the next few weeks.

Here are some of the comedians who have gotten so big they need an auditorium, theater or arena to accommodate them.

February 18, 2024—Brad Williams

This one is coming up in less than two weeks! Brad Williams will be performing at the Plaza Theatre on Sunday, February 18th. Brad used to be part of the Mencia crew but he’s selling out auditoriums all by himself now.

March 3, 2024—Bill Maher

Bill Maher is bringing his standup to the Plaza Theatre. Maher is the host of “Real Time” on HBO for over 20 years. Before that, he hosted “Politically Incorrect” on ABC. Then, he got fired. For being politically incorrect.

March 5, 2024—The most Famous Guys from Whose Line is it Anyway?” that AREN’T Wayne Brady and Drew Carey

“Whose Live is it Anyone” brings in some of the most talented and beloved improv pros to the Plaza on March 5.  It’s billed as “90 minutes of hilarious improvised comedy and song all based on audience suggestions”. No Wayne Brady on this tour, but Ryan Stiles and Greg Proops are in the line-up for this can’t miss show for Improv fans.

March 15, 2024—Ralph Barbosa

From Dallas, Texas Ralph Barbosa has had a meteoric rise to fame. From opener to feature to headliner to THEATER headliner, all in the space of a few years. Ralph is doing one night only at the Plaza Theater on March 15.

March 22, 2024—Mark Normand

This show at UTEP’s Magoffin Auditorium is interesting for a couple of reason. First off, Mark is a really great comic.

Secondly, a video featuring a possibly-in-on-it-possibly-not Normand went viral last week. At a show Normand was “accosted” by someone in the audience. Actually, the guy just got up on stage with Mark until he was ushered off stage by security. THEN, Mark Normand was hustled off stage. Someone got up on stage to tell the crowd the show was over.

Gallons of digital ink have been spilled about the bizarre incident.  From descriptions of the “panic and confusion” at the club to a deep-dive into speculation that Donald Glover may have somehow been involved, it has been the hot topic in comedy circles for the last 10 days or so.

Here’s the original video:

April 19, 2024—Steve Trevino

Well, here’s a familiar face. The MoSho goes back at least 25 years with Steve Trevino, who will be doing a one-night-only at the Abraham Chavez Theater on April 19.  Steve is another comic who started as part of the Mencia travelling entourage. He’s one of the funniest comics you’ll ever see on stage. Something most people don’t know, though, is that Trevino is, hands down, the funniest guy to sit at a bar with and listen to his stories.
