Even though there's plenty of desert land in New Mexico, it's also one to what many skiers consider is one of the best places to ski in the whole state. While of course you have states like Colorado & Utah, to find the best ski resort in New Mexico, you just need to travel to the town of Taos, New Mexico.

Taos Sky Valley is an all time favorite place to ski in New Mexico

Whether it's on Reddit or on Travel, the Taos Sky Valley is considered to be the best place to go in New Mexico. One of the main reasons is the number of trails located at Sky Valley; over 100 different ones for people to ski on. Another reason is the reasonable prices with trying to get a place at the Sky Valley too.

Interesting it was one of the only places in the United States that actually prohibited snowboarding because of the traditions of it being a SKIING resort. That WAS the case until 2008 where people could FINALLY snowboard on the mountains.

Now since there is A LOT of stuff to do there, there have been helpful people online to help others get an idea on what you can expect if you go there. Just a heads up: if you're a beginner skier, this might not be the best place for you to try to learn.
