We let the cat out of the bag this morning on the show. If you missed it, we announced that we'll be having actor/director Ethan Hawke in studio with us on Tuesday, Aug. 28. Hawke won't be alone, he'll be joined by actor/musician Ben Dickey. Hawke and Dickey both are promoting their film "Blaze"Hawke will be having a very busy few months. Along with promoting his film, Hawke will be judging a short film contest in support of El Paso's own Beto O'Rourke.

The contest, called "Reel In The Votes" was put together by Richard Linklater and "Boyhood" producer Cathleen Sutherland. Linklater and Hawke have collaborated together frequently and are both from Texas. Judging alongside Hawke will be fellow Texan Robert Rodriguez. Rodriguez's new movie "Alita: Battle Angel" comes out in theaters on December 21st.

Submissions are open now and are due no later than September 21st. According to the website, they "are accepting 2-3 minute stories (narrative or non-fiction)  as well as 3-second spots in line with Beto's strive for change." The categories include:

MINI BURRITO (2 -3 minutes narrative or non-fiction mini-short)
HOT TAMALE (30-second spot/really really short film)
Age categories :
HECK YES I VOTE (18+ Adults)
BOY I WISH I COULD VOTE (under 18).

There is no entry fee and winners will receive $500 as well as well as being honored at Robert Rodriguez's house with Beto in attendance! More info can be seen here.
