Great news for people who have been asking around- the Fox Plaza Swap Meet will be open this Sunday, November 22nd, just in time for the holidays! We're eight months into the pandemic, and back in March the Fox Plaza swap met shut down because having as many people as the swap meet would get was just no longer safe. Since the entire shutdown debacle, it looked like nothing would be opening up soon- now it looks like those days are behind us. The fancier version of the swap meets have been opening up as well like the Upper Valley Artist and Farmers Market, Sunland Park Mall’s Farm & Flea Market, and the Farmers Market at Ardovino’s Desert Crossing. Now, you can add the Fox Plaza Flea Market to that list.

Open on Sunday (as usual) from 8 AM until 3 PM, at 5515 Alameda, you can check out all the vendors and food trucks while maintaining social distancing protocols; face masks will be required while you're walking around. I got to talk to someone from the Fox Plaza swap meet last month who said that they were trying hard to reopen but in the end, only the city could have given them the okay to open up. Evidently the city came through and let Fox Plaza open up because over the Labor Day weekend they opened up for the first time since March!

I'm real excited for this flea market to open up again, especially because I know some of the vendors depend on the sales they make at the market. It's a great way to support local and get some gifts for your loved ones. If you are heading out make sure you take all the proper precautions like wearing a mask, wash your hands and staying home if you're sick. Of course, if you don't feel safe going, don't go.
