On April 10th, 2020 The City of El Paso has release the latest numbers for COIVD-19 cases in the city with the confirmation of 27 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total to 252 confirmed cases. Sadly, they also confirmed the second COVID-19 related death of a woman in her 70s, who had underlying health conditions but her death is classified as a COVID-19 death.

“Today is another somber day for our community, our thoughts and prayers go out to the affected families,” said Dr. Hector Ocaranza, City/County Health Authority.

El Pasoans are still under the 'Stay Home, Work Safe' order which has been amended to keep more people at home. Many parks and public areas have been closed in an attempt to keep people from possibly spreading COVID-19.

It is scary how fast the virus can be spread, especially when people are not practicing social distancing. Please take the proper precautions to keep you, your family, friends, and coworkers safe. Ultimately, keep your fellow El Pasoan healthy. Stay strong, stay healthy.

PLEASE, PLEASE stay home this Easter weekend. We need to stop this before things escalate.

The CDC now advises anyone who is going out to work or to purchase essentials, please wear a cloth face covering while practicing social distancing.
