Scheduled Road Construction And Closures For El Paso This Week
While the city is ecstatic the Border West Expressway is finally open, there is still quite a lot of construction happening on El Paso Roads. We've finally seen some of the major road projects coming to a close, and the improvements are making the commutes home better and better! Still, there are some projects that are just getting started or are getting the finishing touches. To make sure you're not stuck sitting in traffic due to construction on your commute, you've come to the right place. To find out what major freeway and road closures are happening this week, check out the list below.
Tuesday, October 6 -Thursday, October 8 (9 am - 4 pm DAILY)
- The on-ramp which connects Gateway Boulevard West at westbound I-10 at Piedras Street will be closed to all traffic.
- Lane closures will be in place on eastbound I-10 between Cotton Street and Piedras Street.
- Lane closures will be in place on westbound I-10 between Piedras Street and Cotton Street.
- Lane closures will be in place on Gateway Boulevard East from Poplar Street to Eucapyptus Street.
Wednesday, October 7 & Thursday, October 8 (9 pm - 5 am NIGHTLY)
- Southbound US 54 will be closed to all traffic between I-10 and US 62 (Paisano Drive).
- Ramp E which connects Gateway Boulevard South to southbound US 54 at Yandell Drive will be closed to all traffic.
Sunday, October 10, at 2am, - 5am on Monday, October 11
- I-110, the short freeway spur leading to the Bridge of the Americas, will be closed to all traffic between US 54 and US 62 (Paisano Drive)
- NOTE: When I-110 reopens, the northbound lanes will remain closed to traffic.
Transmountain Project (UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE)
- Transmountain west and eastbound between US-54 and Tom Mays State Park reduced to one lane in both directions. Bike lane closed.
Mesa Rehabilitation Project
Monday, October 5 - Thursday, October 8 (9 pm - 5 am NIGHTLY)
- Mesa northbound between Baltimore and Brentwood complete closure.
Monday, October 5 - Thursday, October 8 (9 pm - 5 am NIGHTLY)
- Mesa southbound between Mesa from Sunland Park to Festival.
UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
- Mesa northbound between Baltimore and Brentwood reduced to one lane.
- Mesa southbound between Sunland Park and Festival reduced to one lane.
Mesa Park Interchange Project
Wednesday, September 30 - Monday, October 5 (10 pm - 5 am NIGHTLY)
- I-10 east and westbound at Executive on-ramps and frontage road alternate lane closures.
Bridge Maintenance Project
Sunday, October 4 - Thursday, October 8 (9 pm - 5 am NIGHTLY)
- I-10 eastbound between Piedras and Raynor complete closure.
Loop 375 Overlay Project
Monday, October 5 - Friday, October 9 (9 am - 5 pm)
- Loop 375 west and eastbound between Railroad and Dyer right lane and shoulder closures.
- Loop 375 eastbound between Dyer and Railroad off-ramp and on-ramp closed.
Guardrail Repair
Monday, October 5 (9 am - 4 pm)
- Gateway West between McRae and Ray Watt left lane closed.
Tuesday, October 6 (9 am - 4 pm)
- I-10 Westbound between Cotton and Palm right lane closed with a complete Cotton on-ramp closure.
Wednesday, October 7 (9 am - 4 pm)
- Gateway West at Boone with a complete Boone closure.
Thursday, October 8 (9 am - 4 pm)
- Gateway North between Ellerthorpe and Dyer right lane closed.
- Crews will be working on guardrails.
Thursday, October 8 - Friday, October 9 (9 pm - 4 am)
- I-10 Westbound between Dallas and Mesa right lane closed with a complete Mesa exit ramp closure.
Pothole Repair
Monday, October 5 - Friday, October 9 (9 pm - 4 am)
- SH-20 (Mesa) westbound between Resler and Belvidere alternate lane closures.
- Crews will be working on pothole repairs.
Spall Repair
Sunday, October 4 - Thursday, October 8 (9 pm - 5 am NIGHTLY)
- I-10 westbound between McRae to Airway alternate lane closures.
Maintenance

- IH-10 eastbound traffic detour at McRae Blvd exit to Lee Trevino Drive
