Scheduled Road Construction And Closures For El Paso This Week
While the city is ecstatic the Border West Expressway is finally open, there is still quite a lot of construction happening on El Paso Roads. We've finally seen some of the major road projects coming to a close, and the improvements are making the commutes home better and better! Still, there are some projects that are just getting started or are getting the finishing touches. To make sure you're not stuck sitting in traffic due to construction on your commute, you've come to the right place. West Area Closures
Transmountain Project
Daily until further notice
- Transmountain east and westbound between US-54 and Tom Mays State Park reduced to one lane in both directions. Bike lane closed.

- Transmountain between US-54 and Resler complete closure.

Mesa Rehabilitation Project

- Mesa southbound lanes between Mesa Hills and Festival complete closure.
- Crews will be paving HMAC.
- Continuous until further notice.
- Mesa northbound between Baltimore and Brentwood reduced to one lane.
- Mesa southbound between Sunland Park and Festival reduced to one lane.

- Continuous 2-way traffic, 1-lane work zone requiring traffic to be alternating onto one lane and controlled by Temporary Traffic Signals with a 14’ vertical clearance
RM 652 Full Depth Rehabilitation Project
Monday, July 20 -Friday, July 31 (7 am - 7 pm DAILY)
- RM 652 continuous left lane closure 5.4 miles east of Montana Avenue (US 62/180) to RM 1165/652
- Continuous 2-way traffic, 1-lane work zone requiring traffic to be alternating onto one lane and controlled by Temporary Traffic Signals with a 18’ vertical clearance
FM 3541 Rehabilitation Project

- 1-10 alternating eastbound and westbound lanes between Airway Boulevard and Schuster to include intersections, entrance and exit ramps
I-10 Connect Closures
Wednesday, July 22, and Thursday July 23 (9 pm - 5 am NIGHTLY)
- Southbound US 54 will be closed to all traffic between I-10 and US 62 (Paisano Drive).
Wednesday, July 22, and Thursday July 23 (24 Hour closure)
- Ramp E which connects Gateway Boulevard South to southbound US 54 at Yandell Drive will be closed.
Wednesday, July 22, and Thursday July 23 (9 pm - 5 am NIGHTLY)
- SH 20 (Alameda Avenue) will be closed to all traffic at US 54.
Monday, July 20, and Tuesday, July 21 (6 am - 4 pm DAILY)
- Gateway Boulevard East will be closed adjacent to Lincoln Park
