Scheduled Construction And Road Closures For El Paso This Week

June is finally over and July is here but the construction all over El Paso is in full swing to get us to the finish line! Find out what major closures will be affecting your commute this week. Doesn’t matter when you’re traveling through the west side of El Paso, it looks like congestion is going to be an issue. Even the east side isn’t immune to traffic and headaches. With road closures, lane closures and more, El Paso traffic is getting worse before it gets any better. There will be some major freeway and road closures happening this week so make sure you are aware so you don’t get caught stuck in traffic.

US 85 (Paisano)

Mon, July 8 & Tues, July 9 (9 pm-5 am nightly)

• Complete nightly westbound closure from Executive to Spur 1966

Tues, July 9 & Wed, July 10 (9 pm-5 am nightly)

• Eastbound and westbound closure from Spur 1966 to San Francisco

• Sunland Park Drive – in the direction traveling northbound, toward the mountain – will close completely at the I-10 overpass.
• Eastbound Paisano Drive will close at Sunland Park Drive for a short distance of approximately 300 feet. Crockett Street access to eastbound Paisano Drive (US 85) will be open.
• Vehicles exiting at Sunland Park from I-10 East will have to turn right on Sunland Park Drive or left onto the eastbound-to-westbound turnaround bridge. No vehicles will be allowed to go straight through the signalized intersection at Sunland Park Drive.
• Vehicles exiting at Sunland Park from I-10 West will have to turn right on Sunland Park Drive or left onto the westbound-to-eastbound turnaround bridge. No vehicles will be allowed to go straight through the signalized intersection at Sunland Park Drive.

North Mesa
Mon, July 8 & Tues, July 9 (9PM-6AM NIGHTLY)

• North Mesa Street COMPLETELY CLOSED at I-10 overpass.
• Both turnaround lanes at the I-10/ North Mesa Street interchange CLOSED
• All motorists exiting I-10 at North Mesa (exit 11) will be forced to turn right onto North Mesa Street (SH 20). No exiting vehicles will be allowed to pass straight through the signalized intersection at North Mesa Street (SH 20).

I-10 East at Mesa
Mon, July 8 (9PM-6AM)

• I-10 East will be reduced to one lane between the North Mesa overpass and the Executive Center overpass.
• The North Mesa entrance ramp to I-10 East CLOSED

US 85 East
Mon, July 8 & Tues, July 9 (9PM-6AM NIGHTLY)

• US 85 East CLOSED at all access points: Sunland Park Drive and the Sunland Park Drive flyover ramp.
• Paisano Drive (US 85) frontage road – in front of the auto dealerships CLOSED

North Desert
Mon, July 8 - Thurs, July 11 (9PM-6AM NIGHTLY)

• North Desert Boulevard CLOSED between North Mesa Street and Thorn Avenue.
• The North Mesa entrance ramp to I-10 West CLOSED
• The east to west turnaround lane at the I-10/North Mesa interchange CLOSED

I-10 West at Executive
Tues, July 9 (9PM-6AM)

• I-10 West will be reduced to one lane between the Executive Center overpass and the North Mesa overpass.
• The Sunland Park exit ramp from I-10 West CLOSED
• The Sunland Park entrance ramp to the main lanes of I-10 East CLOSED

Sunland Park
Tues, July 9 (9PM-6AM)

• Sunland Park Drive – in the direction traveling southbound, toward the railroad tracks – COMPLETELY CLOSED between the mall signalized intersection and Paisano Drive.
• Vehicles exiting at Sunland Park from the eastbound CD lanes will be forced to turn right on Sunland Park Drive or turn left on the turnaround bridge. No vehicles will be allowed to go straight through the signalized intersection at Sunland Park Drive.
• Vehicles exiting at Sunland Park from I-10 West will be forced to turn right on Sunland Park Drive. No vehicles will be allowed to go straight through the signalized intersection at Sunland Park Drive.

I-10 East at Mesa
Wed, July 10 (9PM-6AM)

• I-10 East will be reduced to one lane between the North Mesa overpass and the Executive Center overpass.
• The North Mesa entrance ramp to I-10 East CLOSED

I-10 West at Executive
Wed, July 11 (9PM-6AM)

• I-10 West will be reduced to one lane between the Executive Center overpass and the North Mesa overpass.
• The Sunland Park exit ramp from I-10 West CLOSED
• The Sunland Park entrance ramp to the main lanes of I-10 East CLOSED

• Gateway Boulevard North CLOSED to all traffic between US 62 (Paisano Drive) and SH 20 (Alameda Avenue)
