Ruth Bader Ginsburg Given A Standing Ovation At Santa Fe Opera
Popular Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was spotted at the Santa Fe Opera House, to the delight of the performance's crowd. Ruth Bader Ginsburg is an icon for liberals and beloved by her adoring fans. The fiery woman even has her own action figure, "Notorious RBG," that will begin being shipped out and sold in October. The Kickstarter campaign to get the figures produced quickly received over $600,000 in donations. The campaign initially only wanted to get $15,000 but the popularity of RBG found momentum for the project. The company producing the action figures has already given one to RBG herself, which she said she will proudly display on her mantle.
During the summer months, one of Supreme Court Justice RBG's favorite places to visit favorite places to visit is the beautiful Santa Fe, New Mexico. The 85-year-old has frequented the city for many summers and loves to roam the city. Her favorite thing to do while visiting Santa Fe? Heading to the Santa Fe Opera House to see the season's productions. She is a familiar face at the venue, but when she came to watch a performance last week the crowd in attendance was appreciative to see the role model in person. Here's what the Santa Fe Opera House had to say about having RBG in attendance:
"The Santa Fe Opera was honored this past week by the presence of a very special opera-lover! Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg received a standing ovation from our audiences at both of the performances she attended."
No word on how long Ruth Bader Ginsburg will be in New Mexico, but if you head up to Santa Fe, keep your eyes peeled for RBG!
