Round Rock to Host US Quidditch World Cup 2018

We first of the game of Quidditch 20 years ago when the first Harry Potter book was released. It seemed impossible to replicate in real life though because you needed a magical broom in order to play it.

Well, do not ever question the dedication of a Harry Potter fan because they now have Quidditch tournaments and even a Quidditch World Cup. For 2018, the US Quidditch World Cup will be held in Round Rock, TX.

“We are honored to host the players, families and fans in Round Rock for the U.S. Quidditch Cup in April 2018,” Round Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau Director Nancy Yawn said in a release. “How exciting that the year of the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter, the Sports Capital of Texas gets to announce that the magical, competitive Quidditch national championships will be held here!”

Two other cities that were finalists for the World Cup were Lubbock and Wichita Falls. The World Cup in Round Rock will take place next year (2018) April 14-15.
