It's almost that time of year; the poppies are coming! To celebrate this beautiful bloom,  the El Paso Museum of Archaeology and the Museums and Cultural Affairs Department will be hosting their 14th Annual Poppies Festival on March 21st! Every year, when the poppies bloom, hundreds make the trek towards Transmountain to admire the golden poppies. The poppies festival is a perfect time to check out some local vendors and take that perfect Instagram pic, but be warned, if you are heading out there, the Friends of the El Paso Museum of Archaeology want to remind you: DON'T PICK THE POPPIES!

I like how they have to emphasize not to smash the plants by "sitting or laying on them for photos," because of course that's all we want to do when they bloom, we want that perfect picture! In all seriousness, don't pick the poppies and don't smash them, they're there for everyone to enjoy.
