Red Lobster Unveils A Mountain Dew Margarita

Margaritas and Mountain Dew, they both share a similar color and are now merging to become one iconic cocktail. The “Dew Garita” has debuted at Red Lobster and at first they had my curiosity, then I found out they actually are being served at the Red Lobster in my area, so now they have my full attention.

This isn’t my first time hearing about this strange but intriguing combination. As an avid watcher of Netflix’s reboot of “Queer Eye” one of the episodes actually includes a drink consisting of Mountain Dew and Tequila. The creator of this concoction, Tom from the very first episode, dubs it the "redneck Margarita". He shows the men of "Queer Eye" how to make it and it's real simple- get yourself a big ol' mug, some ice and pour yourself and unspecified amount of Mountain Dew and Tequila. Curiosity got the best of me and I decided to make it myself at home. To my surprise, it wasn't so bad.

According to USA Today, the Dew Garita is expected to be available nationwide by the end of the year. According to Red Lobster: It’s big. It’s green. And it tastes even more incredible than it looks! I gotta admit, the color is pretty and I am a sucker for drinks with pretty colors. My one question is- how well does this go with their Cheddar Bay Biscuits?! Well, apparently, the Dew Garita is the perfect cocktail to accompany those tasty Cheddar Bay Biscuits. So count me in for the Dew Garita!
