Post Malone Name Drops West Texas City in Newest Album
One of the biggest artists from Texas in the music world is Posty, aka Post Malone. He has shown love for Texas in his music for years; recently he showed love for one Texas city in particular in his brand new album "F-1 Trillion". That city being El Paso, Texas
Which song did Post Malone mention El Paso in the lyrics?
On the penultimate track on the record, track #17 called "M-E-X-I-C-O", Post Malone tells a story of a man who gets involved with some various "activities" that lead him into some trouble with the law. According to Post Malone himself, "song serves as a reminder that life doesn't always go according to plan, and the pursuit of happiness can sometimes lead to unexpected and even tragic consequences".
During the bridge section, that's where we discover El Paso's role in the song:
I made it south of El Paso, met a businesswoman there
I knew that she was rich, but how, I didn't care
When the cops kicked in the door, they found a suitcase of cocaine
She took off with the Federales, and I took all the blame
It certainly sounds like something that COULD happen here in El Paso...You can hear the whole song down below & you can watch the whole crazy story unfold in the lyrics.
Has Post Malone been to El Paso before?
Yes we has; you might recall that Post Malone DID stop by El Paso back in 2018. He went to the Twin Peaks off of Sunland Park, some people were lucky to get some shots with the super star before things got a little too crazy...
So far Post Malone has yet to perform in El Paso, but if he does, I think this is one song he'll HAVE to play here for sure.
